If our Pack reaches $1500 average per Scout, then everyone who participates in the fundraiser will earn free Scouting this year regardless of individual sales.
When the Pack succeeds, we all succeed!
That’s the “Pack Effect” and it’s only possible when every Scout lives the Cub Scout Motto to “Do Your Best!”
Review the Participation Expectations to see how your family can benefit from the “Pack Effect.”
To be eligible to receive the benefits of the "Pack Effect" regardless of individual sales goals, each Scout is expected to participate in any TWO of the following (can mix, match, or duplicate):
2 hours (1 shift) of Solo Storefront Shift
4 hours (2 shifts) of Split Storefront Shift
20 Wagon or Online sales
Belt loops, pins, colors, patches, rank badges
Pinewood Derby car and workshops

Are you a pro and can give a little of your time to help a Scout at a storefront?
Are you new to storefronts? Do you know your Scout will need some help with storefronts?
Please fill out this form and we can help pair a Scout in need with a Helpful Scout!
One of the best ways to help with this fundraiser is to practice talking to customers. Memorize your pitch (can be as simple as "Would you like to support Scouting?") and practice with your family different scenarios.
Ready to take your fundraising to streets? Sign up for wagon sales! You will be provided with all the supplies needed to get you up and running. You do not have to sell everything given to you.
Share Pack 493 Popcorn Local Order Form — Share this form on social media with local friends and family. Any orders for your Scout will be shared with you to complete as a wagon sale.
Scouting is for everyone — our primary goal is to ensure financial equitability through teamwork. For the past two years this fundraiser has allowed our unit to have a free Scouting Program for every Scout that participated in the fundraiser.
Extra perks — through stretch goals, we've also been able to purchase supplies for camping, fishing, catered celebrations, and activities without any additional costs to our families.
Council Properties — this fundraiser helps support Council staffing, maintenance, activities, and properties (e.g., Camp Snyder, Camp Goshen, Cub Scout Day Camps, Marriott Scout Service Center)

What happens if I want to "opt out" of fundraising?
Our Pack works really hard to make this fundraiser accessible for all families, so please reach out if you have concerns.
If you decide that you are unable to participate in this fundraiser and decide to "opt out", you will be responsible to work with the Committee to cover the Pack Dues, National and Council Fees on a schedule that works for all of us.
Unfortunately, you will not be eligible for the benefits of reaching the Pack Goal / "Pack Effect" or any of the incentives and rewards.
What happens if we don't reach our Pack Goal and unlock the "Pack Effect"?
In the unlikely (but still possible) event that we don't reach the "Pack Effect" goal, that's OK! Our Pack always does its best, and we will continue to be proud of all our efforts.
If you participate in the fundraiser, you will receive ~35% commission on whatever funds your Scout raised. That commission will be deducted from your dues and Council/National fees.
The Pack Committee will work with your family to determine a payment schedule and/or financial aid to pay the balance.
How long does this fundraiser last?
The fundraiser starts in late August and runs through October.
Can you give me some examples of participation expectations to receive the benefits of the Pack Goal?
To be eligible to receive the benefits of the "Pack Effect" regardless of individual sales goals, each Scout is expected to participate in any TWO of the following (can mix, match, or duplicate):
2 hours (1 shift) of Solo Storefront Shift
4 hours (2 shifts) of Split Storefront Shift
20 Wagon or Online sales
Example:
✅ ✅ Scout participates in 4 hours (2 shifts) of Solo Storefront Shift
Example:
✅ Scout participates in 2 hours (1 shift) of Solo Storefront Shift
✅ Scout completes 20 Wagon Sales
Example:
✅ ✅ Scout participates in 8 hours (4 shifts) of Split Storefront Shift
Example:
✅ Scout participates in 4 hours (2 shifts) of Split Storefront Shift
✅ Scout participates in 2 hours (1 shift) of Solo Storefront Shift
Example:
✅ ✅ Scout completes 40 Wagon or Online Sales
What is a Solo Storefront Shift?
A Solo Storefront Shift is a shift where only ONE Scout is signed up to run. This offers the best ROI for our Pack and our families.
What is a Split Storefront Shift?
A Split Storefront Shift is a shift where TWO Scouts are signed up to run. This option is good for new, younger, shy Scouts or siblings to have support but does not typically increase ROI for the Pack or families.
What are Scout Dollars?
A Scout is Helpful! Every Scout that exceeds $1500 helps offset the cost for other Scouts who will not reach that goal. As a thank you, our Pack rewards Scouts going above and beyond with Scout Dollars.
Scout Dollars are Pack funds set aside just for you that you can use on any Scout-related supplies or activities.
On what can I use my Scout Dollars?
Once you earn Scout Dollars, you can use them to be reimbursed for any Scout-related supplies or activities like:
Scouting activities outside the Pack Program (Scout Day sports events, museum Scout activities, Scout summer camps)
Uniforms
Anything from the Scout Shop
Camping and hiking supplies
Pinewood Derby accessories
How do I redeem my Scout Dollars?
When you receive Scout Dollars, you will receive an email with information on how to redeem. The basic steps are:
Make a purchase for a Scout-related item.
Submit an entry for reimbursement in the amount of your earned Scout Dollars with a copy of the receipt here.
Do Scout Dollars expire?
Scout Dollars must be used within the 2025-2026 Program Year and cannot be rolled over. Any unused Scout Dollars will be added back to the Pack Account on August 31, 2026.
